The BC Wheelchair Basketball Society (BCWBS) is a non-profit organization formed in 1983 and registered with Revenue Canada as a charity since 1985. BCWBS provides support to wheelchair basketball programs throughout British Columbia.

December 03, 2010 Welcome to a brand new season! This has certainly been a hectic and exciting one so far, starting in September for me with the BCBOA Superclinic out in Langley and the Dribble on Wheels camp in Seattle. High Performance practices started up at Douglas College early September, and have been going full tilt since then, including a six week appearance by Steve Ramsbottom and his chair skills sessions. I’m sure the athletes will agree with me that they were a most helpful way to kick off the season. read more...
BCWBS Division I & II Tournament Held in Langley

December 03, 2010 This past weekend (November 26-28), BCWBS in partnership with Trinity Western University, hosted a CWBL Division I and II tournament for the Lower Mainland and regional club teams. Six teams from around BC travelled in for the Division II games through all types of inclement weather: Breakers, Cable Cars, Kamloops, Okanagan, Victoria and the Canada Games team. read more...
Kathy Newman Win In Her Footsteps Award

November 19, 2010 Kathy Newman, the Executive Director at BC Wheelchair Sports has been honoured with the top award in Sport and Recreation in BC. In Her Footsteps honoured three women who have made a difference in sport in BC on the evening of November 4 in downtown, Vancouver. Other honourees this year are Olympic sprinter and athletics organizer/administrator Diane Clement and national women's basketball coach Allison McNeill. read more...
DIVISION I and II Trinity Western University / Richmond Olympic Oval Nov 26-28

November 19, 2010 This coming weekend will see the second hit out for the division II teams for this season. It will have been five weeks since the last round of division II games which saw Victoria and Breakers at the top of the table, so this weekend’s game look set to be hotly contested. Also amongst the division II action the Royals and the Lions will battle it out in another Division I show-down. Last time the teams played each other, the Douglas College Lions were victorious in both games so everyone will be looking to the Royals to see what they can do to combat the Lions. read more...

The lower mainland City League will consist of 9 weekly game nights, where new players, older juniors, and some seasoned retirees can develop their game skills and have some competitive fun! BC Junior Wheelchair Basketball Challenge 2010 - This Weekend!

November 10, 2010 The junior players (8-24 years old) from across province will be competing in the 11th Anual Junior Wheelchair Bsketball Challenge this weekend. BCWBS and the leadership class at Hugh McRoberts Secondary School will be hosting our junior players including our weekly junior program participants, Canada Games team athletes, and all other young wheelchair basketball enthusiasts in Richmond.
