The BC Wheelchair Basketball Society (BCWBS) is a non-profit organization formed in 1983 and registered with Revenue Canada as a charity since 1985. BCWBS provides support to wheelchair basketball programs throughout British Columbia.

Learning Facilitators and Introduction to Competition Coaching Clinic 2010

October 27, 2010 October 22-24 was a big weekend for potential coaches and coaching facilitators from across Canada. 12 candidate coaches signed up to learn more about wheelchair basketball and five current coaches jumped at the opportunity to learn from the best at Douglas College in New Westminster, BC. Division ONE 2010-11 draft completed & teams ANNOUNCED!
October 27, 2010 Division I is set to see some hot competition this season with just two teams competing to be the best in B.C !! Coach Cheryl Corrigan and Joe Higgins along with the Division I Commissioner, Carrie Linegar sat down on September 29 to build their respective teams in the 2010-11 Div I draft. “The draft is a great idea; it’s an awesome way to put your team together. DIVISION II Competition Begins!
October 27, 2010 Last weekend saw the opening round of the Division II competition for 2010. Six teams competed in Kelowna including, Kamloops Bulldawgs, BC Breakers (Lower Mainland), Vintage Cable Cars (Lower Mainland), Canada Games (Junior), Victoria Titans and the hosts the Okanagan Thunder. The Victoria Titans were the most successful team of the weekend, winning all their games over the course of the weekend. The combination of Tony Golston’s height, and Deion Green’s ability to read the floor ensured that no team came within 10 points of the Titans at the end of the weekend. read more...

October 15, 2010 October 15, 2010 (Ottawa, ON) Wheelchair Basketball Canada congratulates former Sr. Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Coaching great Tim Frick who was selected by the Canadian Paralympic Committee’s (CPC) Coaches Council when naming their new coaching excellence award – “The Tim Frick Paralympic Coach Excellence Award.” Frick led Team Canada to an unprecedented three straight Paralympic gold medals in 1992, 1996, and 2000 as part of a run of nine consecutive podium finishes at the Paralympic Games and World Championships between 1990-2006. read more...
