The BC Wheelchair Basketball Society (BCWBS) is a non-profit organization formed in 1983 and registered with Revenue Canada as a charity since 1985. BCWBS provides support to wheelchair basketball programs throughout British Columbia.
BC And Ontario Compete in Valentine's Day Friendly Competition
February 18, 2014 The Team BC Canada Games program hosted the Ontario Canada games program athletes in a Valentine's Day friendly event. The two teams had a training camp and played some games and even traded jerseys to compete in an intrasquad game. Many thanks to Ross McDonald and the City of Surrey for doing a fantastic job hosting us at the Cloverdale Recreation Centre. It was as a great weekend of basketball and team building and will be a good step in our preparations for Junior Nationals and eventually Canada Games next year in Prince George. read more...
Good Luck to the Teams Competing at the 2014 BC Winter Games

February 18, 2014 Good luck to the teams competing at the 2014 BC Winter Games this weekend. Six teams featuring the top junior wheelchair basketball athletes from across the province will head to Mission for 3 days of competition and fun. The BC Games are a multi-sport games for both able-bodied athletes and athletes with a disability. The BC Games give athletes a taste of the excitement of a multi-sport competition and prepares them for the Canada Games and, perhaps, the Paralympic/Olympic Games. read more...

Register Now for the Langley Junior Program

December 13, 2013 Registration is now open for the Langley Junior Program. The program is open to junior players ages 8 and up. Both able-bodied children and children with disabilities are welcome, and no experience is necessary. For a quality sport experience, the ability to follow instructions, good upper-body mobility and the ability to use a manual wheelchair are required. BC Athlete Amanda Yan Named to CIBC Team Next Program

November 18, 2013 BC Wheelchair Basketball Society congratulates Amanda Yan, who was named to the CIBC Team Next Program along with 66 other Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls. She will receive from CIBC $15,000 in funding over three years as well as invaluable life skills and sport mentorship from eight of our nation’s finest high performance athletes.
