The BC Wheelchair Basketball Society (BCWBS) is a non-profit organization formed in 1983 and registered with Revenue Canada as a charity since 1985. BCWBS provides support to wheelchair basketball programs throughout British Columbia.
Comox Wheelchair Basketball Skills Development Camp – Coach Arley’s Report
February 21, 2013 Fun and skill development were the two goals of this Sunday’s (Feb 17) wheelchair basketball clinic in beautiful Comox. I had the pleasure of heading to Vancouver Island to work with ten very enthusiastic athletes. The camp started out with individual skills, and everyone worked hard to improve their pushing mechanics, chair skills, dribbling and shooting. During games like Dance Party and Fun Fact Tag, I soon learned that the Comox group is a fun-loving bunch…not to mention, excellent dancers. read more...
BC Finals 2013 This Weekend - March 1-3

February 20, 2013 BCWBS is excited to host the BC-CWBL Provincial Finals 2013 at Pinetree Community Centre in Coquitlam on March 1-3. Six Division 2 teams and two Division 1 teams will be competing for respective provincial title. The BC-CWBL is unique in that teams are comprised of men and women, juniors and adults, and individuals with spinal cord injury, spina bifida, CP, amputees, reduced mobility due to knee/hip injury, no diesabilities (able-bodied), etc. read more...
Steve Nash Youth Basketball Challenge - Register Now
February 19, 2013 BCWBS is excited to host a Junior Wheelchair Basketball Division again in 2013 Steve Nash Youth Basketball Challenge hosted by Basketball BC. This is an exciting event focused on providing junior players with a positive competition and skill development experience just for them. Each player will be playing at least two 3-on-3 games in the Steve Nash Youth Basketball Challenge which not only wheelchair basketball but also stand-up basketball as well as Special Olympic basketball will be competing in. read more...
Division 2 Kelowna Tournament Report
February 12, 2013 The last regular season Division 2 tournament was held in Kelowna on January 26 & 27. The weekend was a very competitive weekend for Tacoma, Kamloops and the Cable Cars with Kamloops struggling on day one but dominating on day two! The Cable Cars pulled off a great win against Kamloops on the first day under the coaching of Joe. Kelowna was the most gracious host allowing the visiting teams a win in every game! read more...
