The BC Wheelchair Basketball Society (BCWBS) is a non-profit organization formed in 1983 and registered with Revenue Canada as a charity since 1985. BCWBS provides support to wheelchair basketball programs throughout British Columbia.
BC Breakers 2015 Wheelchair Basketball Festival

March 24, 2015 BCWBS and Douglas College hosted the BC Breakers Wheelchair Basketball Festival on March 21/22 at Douglas College in New Westminster. BC Breakers played games against the Calgary Rollers and Edmonton Inferno women’s clubs from Alberta in preparation for women’s nationals in April. 22 players from BC and two women’s clubs from Alberta attended the festival along with 8 coaches and several volunteers. read more...
BC Breakers Festival on March 21/22 - Schedule Updated

March 12, 2015 BCWBS is hosting the BC Breakers Festival at Douglas College in New Westminster on March 21/22. The event is open to all girls and women, able bodied or with a physical disability, including new players and first timers. The event features skills development sessions and fun 3 on 3 games while BC Breakers are competing against two teams from Alberta, Calgary Rollers and Edmonton Inferno. 2015 BC-CWBL Final- March 7th and 8th

March 06, 2015 Come out and watch the 2015 BC-CWBL Finals this weekend! There are 7 teams attending including some athletes that were recently up in Prince George representing Team BC at the Canada Games. 17 Women Gathered at the First Women's Skills Day on the Island

March 02, 2015 Last Saturday (Feb 28), BC Wheelchair Basketball hosted a women’s skills day at the Royal Oak Middle School in Saanich. 17 female athletes including new and veteran players attended this camp to work on their individual skills and enjoy the game experience. We were fortunate to have Tim Frick, the legendary former provincial and national coach along with Simon Cass, BCWBS Regional High Performance and Development coach and Marni Abbott-Peter, BCWBS High Performance Director to lead the camp. read more...
Mark Your Calendar for 2016 - BC Winter Games in Penticton

February 27, 2015 Mark your calendar for 2016! BCWBS will be competing again in the next BC Winter Games that will be held in Penticton Feb, 2016. Athletes, with or without disability, turning 12 – 20 years of age in 2015 are eligible to participate (athletes born in 1995 to 2003). Up to two new or developmental athletes with a disability per zone can be 21 years of age or older if space permits. read more...

BC Beats Nova Scotia At the 2015 Canada Winter Games!

February 20, 2015 Team BC refocused and came back strong to beat Nova Scotia 53-38 at the 2015 Canada Winter Games! We're now in consolation round action, so we'll be playing against New Brunswick tomorrow at 1 pm. If we win, we'll likely finish in sixth place. Off the court, we enjoyed a little celebrity status today. Team BC Ends The Round Robin 1-3 at the 2015 Canada Winter Games

February 19, 2015 Today didn't give us the result we wanted, but Team BC has a chance to finish on a high note at the 2015 Canada Winter Games tomorrow in the consolation round.
