The BC Wheelchair Basketball Society (BCWBS) is a non-profit organization formed in 1983 and registered with Revenue Canada as a charity since 1985. BCWBS provides support to wheelchair basketball programs throughout British Columbia.
Register Now For the New Richmond Wheelchair Basketball Program

October 29, 2013 BCWBS is excited to announce that a new pilot wheelchair basketball program will be launching in Richmond starting November 6th. The six-week program, coached by Joe Higgins and Arley McNeney, will be aimed at beginners and intermediate players over age 13. The session will offer a one-hour skill session, plus a half-hour scrimmage, and will be focused on giving athletes the skills needed to take their game to the next level. read more...
Gold Rush Shine At Kamloops Division Two Tournament

October 23, 2013 A report from the Langley Gold Rush: The BC Gold Rush went undefeated in the recent Div 2 Tournament held in Kamloops on the October 5th and 6th weekend. The Gold Rush played hard and had a few close games but were able to stay ahead of the pack for the entire tournament. The hosting Kamloops team had a great tournament as well, coming in 2nd with 3 close wins and 1 loss to the champs.The tournament was a great success and lots of fun, and we thank Kamloops for hosting us all! read more...
BC To Take Part in Wheelchair Basketball Western Conference League

October 18, 2013 Local wheelchair basketball players are about to have more competitive opportunities, thanks to BC's entry into the Western Conference League. Select BC teams will be competing in the inter-provincial league, which also includes teams from Alberta and Saskatchewan. BC teams will be travelling to Calgary, Edmonton, and Saskatchewan through the season and will be competing at the Open Finals in Spring. read more...
Bring Your Little Ghosts and Goblins To Let's Play's Halloween Day!

October 11, 2013 Calling all little ghosts and goblins! Bring your friends, family and siblings and get ready for some spooky fun at the Let's Play Halloween Play Date. The Let's Play Program is hosting a Halloween fun day for children with disabilities under 8 and their friends, family and siblings. (Older kids are welcome if they would be a good fit for the program). Able-bodied friends and siblings are welcome to hop in wheelchairs and play along. Kids With Disabilities Shine At Let's Play Day

October 03, 2013 It may have been a rainy Sunday afternoon outside, but the children with disabilities and their siblings, family and support workers lit up the Mount Pleasant Community Center with their enthusiasm. Kids between age 3 and 12 had a chance to try a variety of wheelchair sports, including boccia, tag, floor hockey, relay races and much more. Parents and siblings even hopped in their chairs to join in the fun.
